: Context and Mission:
The Computer Applications in Science & Engineering department is looking for a Junior Engineer linked to the Smart Cities JSA Project with IBM.
The mission of the Computer Applications in Science and Engineering (CASE) Department is to develop new computational strategies to simulate complex problems capable of running efficiently on modern supercomputers. The parallel codes resulting of this research activity apply in the realm of Computational Engineering and Physics and Computational Societies. Collaborative projects with industry and scientific groups are the main motivation underlying all development carried out in CASE.
Responsabilities:
The candidate will develop software which handling large sets of geo-referenced data in the field of smart cities.
Requirements:
BS in Computer Engineering or telecommunications Engineering
It is required experience in software development and applications with interface web.
It is required to know DHTML, Java and SQL
It will be a plus to have experience in data base applications with a big dataset.
It will be a plus to have experience working with GIS systems.
The position will be located at BSC within the CASE department in collaboration with the specific program coordinator. The contract will be for 2 years.
