: Barcelona Supercomputing Center
: The storage system group from the computer science department at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center searches for 1 junior researcher/engineer willing to work on Wasabi, the next generation of object-based storage systems (Self-contained objects).
The main objective is to participate in the definition and implementation the Wasabi flavor of Python:
Store and retrieve python objects
Efficient offloading of object methods
Integration with PyCOMPSs, the Python flavor of a BSC programming model
This work will be developed in the storage system research group at BSC and in tight cooperation with the Severo Ochoa team. The contract will be temporary.
We are searching for a candidate with the following profile:
University degree on computer science (or related topic)
Experience in programming especially in Python
Experience in object-oriented programming
Basic knowledge in file systems and in operating systems in general
English at a level that guarantees fluent participation in international meetings
Availability to travel a few times a year
The following skills will also be evaluated (although are not compulsory)
Agile programming methodologies
Java
